The Journey Begins

A valley that only exists for a few weeks a year. The monsoon that closes most of the Himalaya is what opens this one — snowmelt, then colour, across a floor a UNESCO listing protects and almost nobody sees outside July to September. Six days, with one held free for Hemkund Sahib if the legs are willing.

Highlights

  • A full day inside the valley itself, not a walk-through on the way elsewhere.
  • An optional climb to Hemkund Sahib, or a slow day at Ghangaria instead.
  • Timed to the bloom — the valley is only open and in flower from July to September.
