The Journey Begins

The winter trek people start with, and the one they come back to. Six days from Dehradun through Sankri’s wooden houses, a night beside the frozen lake at Juda Ka Talab, and a summit push in the dark that puts you on the ridge as the Swargarohini range takes first light. Snow underfoot for most of the season, and a gradient that asks for effort rather than experience.

Highlights

  • A camp beside Juda Ka Talab, frozen over for much of the season.
  • A pre-dawn summit push, timed to reach the ridge for first light.
  • An acclimatisation day before the climb rather than a straight ascent.
